Being able to make money online may seem like only a dream for many but I’m here to tell you it’s entirely possible. You CAN and SHOULD have the opportunity to quit your full-time job to make money from home because it will change your entire life.

When you make money online you can travel the world, stay home with your kids, and work with your dog snuggled in a ball next to you (he’s right there while I type this).

The best thing? None of what I’m about to talk about is ground breaking. Every single one of these things has been done before. This means that making money this way is possible and you can do it too!

The main thing is that you need to have the drive, motivation, and overall determination to be able to get it done and make it happen for yourself.

Making money online is a great way to get out of debt and stop living paycheck to paycheck. When I was in college, I swear I searched “make money online” almost every day because my full-time job was soul crushing and I wanted to find any other way to pay for classes. I wish I knew the things I know now.

This is why I want to share my 10 favourite ways to make money online. Some of these are things I do myself, and some of these are things I’ve seen other people have massive success with in the past. I hope you find something that will work for you! Let’s go!

10 Amazing Ways to Make Money Online

#1 – Blogging

Anyone who knows me knows that I can’t talk about making money online without talking about starting a blog. As you can see, I am a blogger. I make the bulk of my money through blogging and I do so from the comfort of my couch with my dog by my side. It’s an insane life.

I love blogging so much that I started an entire second blog just to help other people start and make money from a blog, so obviously I’m obsessed, right? Yeah. Definitely.

There are a ton of ways that you can make money blogging. Us bloggers do so through ad networks, affiliate marketing (we’ll discuss that in more detail later, creating products, and more. The awesome thing is that you can start a blog for less than $5 a month, and I go over everything in The Ultimate Guide to Starting a Blog!

#2 – Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate marketing is one of my favourite ways to make money online because you get to help people find products they’ll love and you make money doing it.

You don’t have to have a blog to participate in affiliate marketing. You can do so on Pinterest, Instagram, Youtube, and pretty much everywhere else. So, what is affiliate marketing?

Essentially, in affiliate marketing you partner with companies by being an affiliate and you use the platform of your choice to sell their products to your readers/viewers/audience.

Last year, I took a course called Making Sense of Affiliate Marketing from a woman who makes over $50,000+ per month with affiliate marketing alone. In this course, you learn how to build trust with an audience, how to legally use affiliate links, and how to find great affiliate programs for you to promote!

#3 – Online Surveys

I know that doing online surveys is recommended just about everywhere. It’s at a point where it seems kind of sketchy, at least I think so! But actually, survey companies are an insanely easy way to make money online in your spare time without having to do any real heavy lifting.

I’ve tried pretty much every survey company, no joke. As I said, I tried to find as many ways as possible to make money online so I’ve done hundreds of surveys to help pay for textbooks. It may not be a get rich kind of situation but you can definitely make a little bit of extra pocket money.

Since I’ve tried so many survey websites, I feel confident in recommending American Consumer Opinion to you. They’re the least sketchy website I’ve found and I’ve found that they make people the most money possible!

#4 – Youtube

We’re living in an insanely digital world these days and with that online video is taking over and that’s why Youtube is such a powerful way to make money. There are Youtube content creators out there making millions of dollars a month and you have the possibility to make it happen too!

I’m not saying that you’ll make millions, but you can make a really nice living from a Youtube channel if you work hard and stay consistent.

I know a lot of people don’t understand how Youtubers make their money, so let’s dig into that really quick. The main way they monetize their videos is through Google Adsense and the short ads that play before and during videos. The second way is through sponsored content and the third is affiliate marketing where you sell someone else’s products and get a percentage of the sale.

If you’ve ever enjoyed making home videos, or you have a winning personality you can definitely make Youtube videos and start monetizing them as a nice little side hustle!

 

#5 – YouNow

YouNow is another really cool way to make money online. There are people broadcasting live on YouNow every day and making almost $100,000+ per year!

Most people haven’t heard of YouNow, but it’s just a live streaming platform that’s all about YOU. There are other live streaming platforms (like twitch, which we will talk about next) that are more about doing a task, like gaming, but YouNow is more about a personal connection with your viewer.

Essentially, you just sit on livestream for a few hours and have conversations with people who pop in and start talking to you through the chat feature! These viewers can pay you money by tipping you with bars that you can transfer into cash once you become a verified partner. It’s a really cool way to make money i your spare time, as well as an awesome way to make connections.

#6 – Twitch

Streaming live video on Twitch seems to be the new cool things these days when it comes to making money online. There are Twitch streamers like Ninja who are making millions of dollars each and every month just because they’re playing video games and they’ve cultivated amazing connections with their audiences. It’s a super cool platform.

Essentially, it works the same way as YouNow. People watch your streams, they can tip you if they so choose and you can also get promotional opportunities to work with brands once you grow an audience. This isn’t a get rich quick kind of situation, it takes a while to build a dedicated audience. But once you’re able to get a few loyal fans, you can really make an awesome living on Twitch.

#7 – Course Creation

It seems these days that there is an online course created to teach you just about anything. I’ve taken a number of online courses related to blogging and pinterest marketing so I know that there are people out there that have been able to create courses and make thousands of dollars selling them.

The key here is to find something that you’re an expert in, that you’re also super passionate about. You don’t want to create a course on a topic that you’re going to get bored of in a matter of weeks because you’ll be answering questions from your students and you don’t want to come off as disingenuous!

My favourite platform to take online courses is Teachable. Their platforms allows for both video and text content to be shared and you can also add in worksheets and all that jazz. It’s a super awesome platform to create courses on just about anything.

I’ve taken courses in affiliate marketing, pinterest marketing, email marketing, all sorts of marketing and most of them have been through the teachable platform! I highly recommend it.

#8 – Swagbucks

This is probably something you’ve heard of before if you’re a frequent blog reader and I know … Swagbucks isn’t going to make you rich. It won’t even make you a full-time income. But if you’re super strapped for cash and really need help to be able to buy groceries, it’s a really good option to earn gift cards or money to your paypal.

Swagbucks allows you to earn points through watching videos, answering surveys, surfing the web, and so much more. They’ve also recently created their own live trivia game where you can earn money, a lot like the super popular game HQ. FUN!

If you have a couple of extra minutes each day to use Swagbucks you can earn a couple hundred dollars a year. When I was in college I used Swagbucks all the darn time and I would always just save up the money until right before Christmas so I could have a nice chunk of cash to spend on my friends and family!

#9 – Consulting/Coaching

This one goes hand in hand with course creation but on a more one-on-one level. Have you ever succeeded at something that other people would die for? If you have, you can consult or coach on the topic! For example, a lot of people who have killer bodies from working out will because online fitness and nutrition coaches and they’ll find their clients on Instagram which means they paid $0 to gain clients which is an awesome ROI if you ask me!

You could becoming a blogging coach if you have a blog, a life coach if you’ve been through some shit, a fitness coach, a relationship coach, pretty much every aspect of life needs a coach because we don’t have it very easy on this crazy planet called earth. Personally, I’d love to hire a general business coach just to help me through the hard times and help steer me in the right direction so I KNOW that this is a niche of internet business that makes awesome money.

#10 – Ebates

Okay, okay. Ebates isn’t a way to make money online. But it is a really awesome way to save money online and to earn cash back! I can’t write any kind of post about making money online without talking Ebates! Ebates is a completely free website/app where you go before you shop at all your favourite stores. Why? Because Ebates will give you cash back just for shopping through their links! They have websites like Amazon, Old Navy, Forever 21, Sephora, and so many more.

Last year I earned over $100 from Ebates just in the month of December from purchasing Christmas presents, that’s kind of crazy. I may have overshopped a bit. But still! $100 in the bank is $100 in the bank!
